Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 1
Use your best cat acting skills to become a Kat Detective.
Hot and tired you rest a paw on one of the stones. Suddenly you feel rumbling and a small hole opens up in the pyramid. It's just big enough for a Kitty Kat to squeeze through... excited and intrigued you and the other Kitty Kats venture in and the hole closes behind you. You have discovered the network of secret passages that your guide Detective Kitty Kat Meow McFluffy has been searching for.

You will need to work together to solve puzzles and use math skills to find your way out of the pyramid.

There will be individual and group tasks presented on slides and students will share their answers with the group.
This class will go ahead with 1 or 2 cats but may end a few minutes early.

This is an inclusive class and I welcome students with learning difficulties alongside those who are confident in number recognition, counting addition, and subtraction within 20. Please let me know of any additional needs so that I can differentiate my questioning.

If you love cats and mysteries you will love being a part of The Kitty Kat Detective Agency International.
Join The Kitty Kat Detective Social Club for a new mystery every week!

I trained at a top drama school in London and create devised theatre and inclusive dance performances. I have been a teacher in schools and further education for the last 15 years. I specialize in teaching drama, English, maths, enterprise, and working with students with learning disabilities. In December 2020 I left my full-time job teaching maths, drama, and citizenship in a secondary school for autistic learners to work full time at The Kitty Kat Detective Agency International.

I am passionate about inclusion and mastery. I am skilled at teaching complex concepts using simple visual methods.  I use my acting training to retell magical stories with fun, maths puzzles, and games woven in with top tips for individual students on how to develop their maths and communication skills.
