This is an 2 week class that covers the foundation for multiplication. Many people memorize their multiplication facts, which is a great strategy. The basis for multiplication is repeated addition and skip counting. Understanding these patterns not only helps in memorizes times tables but also introduces patterns that can be used as students learn and compute larger multiplication facts. This is one course which is apart of an ongoing series. Each lesson is structured similarly. Students can expect to: Learn Vocabulary, See examples, Practice, and complete challenge questions. Each lesson ends with a song, relating to the topic of the lesson.
Learning Goals
At the end of the course, students will be able to add repeatedly to aid in multiplication.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been an upper elementary school teacher for several years and have observed that students who lack memorization of multiplication facts often struggle with techniques necessary for successful multiplication. In addition, I have spent five years tutoring lower elementary students. My experience has shown that early exposure to number patterns and strategies significantly eases the process of memorizing multiplication. This class employs the strategies I have developed and refined over the years to assist both struggling students and those seeking to master multiplication at an early stage.
