3 lessons//2 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1Making a BudgetThis lesson will focus on the difference between needs vs wants (& how someone's "need" can be a "want" for another and vice versa). We'll use the discussion on needs and wants to then create a list of "needs" that will then turn into our budget. We'll dive into the concept of a "four walls budget" and the dangers of prioritizing wants all the time.Week 2Lesson 2Finding the Value: Part OneThis lesson will focus on learning advertising tricks and discussing some items that are almost always on sale to avoid being scammed into spending too much for them.Lesson 3Finding the Value: Part TwoThis lesson will be focused on price comparing. We'll talk about when to buy things in bulk and when to buy things in their regular packaging, how to stretch ingredients, and the value of a treat.

This class would be a great supplement unit for learners with learning needs such as ADHD, autism, or dyslexia. We'll be using lots of visuals and varying examples of each concept.
I will be sharing my screen during each lesson to showcase the catalogs of several grocery stores: Trader Joes, Aldi, Target, Sam's Club, and Walmart. No account will be required for any website we go to and students will not need to access those websites to complete the lessons as I'll be sharing them on my screen.
No outside curriculum will be used in this course.
I have 5+ years of experience teaching, both in the special education classroom and working supported employment for adults on the autism spectrum. My bachelors degree is in Special Education from Liberty University and I hold a Master's in...
