Hi There! This is the second part of my Optical Illusions series where we learn the neuroscience behind how optical illusions work! Students need not take Part 1 to learn and grow from Part 2. Here we will learn further optical illusions and types while applying understanding to the visual field and the physiological psychology and neuroscience of vision. Students learn 3 new concepts in the process, and aid in the understanding of both brain processing and the biology of the eye and brain. We will discuss more advanced optical illusions than Part 1 and try our hand at interpreting some stereograms (i.e. the old Magic Eye (TM) type illusions).

Hello there! I am a former assistant professor of psychophysiology and published scientist with a PhD in Biomedical and Behavioral Neuroscience. I have taught for 9 semesters at the college level, with courses ranging from statistics to biomedical literature analysis. With scientific illiteracy at astounding levels in this country, it is up to the educators to ensure the next generation can gain critical thinking skills in the field.
