Class experience

Beginner Level
I have been a certified veterinary technician for more than 30 years. I have a MEd from Colorado State University and and I am now finishing up my second Master’s program and will have a Master of Veterinary Education (MVEd) from Lincoln Memorial University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2024.

I have been teaching at local colleges in a veterinary Assistant Programs, an equine studies program and a variety of Veterinary Science programs for grades 3-5, 6-8, and high school.

I am also a homeschool mom! At home, my family has 2 mini horses, 1 Paint horse, 4 Nigerian dwarf goats, 6 chickens and 2 cats!

I am super passionate about sharing my experience and love for animals and veterinary medicine with all learners from all over the world!
Coloring pages/worksheets provided so printing them and bringing coloring supplies will be needed if you choose to use them.
Week 3 will need a small to medium sized stuffed animal and a towel (kitty burrito practice!)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Veterinary science can be gross :-) This class does not have any photos that are bloody or show any bad injuries. There will be X-rays of pets what ate things they shouldn't have, or have a broken bone. The teacher will also discuss lab tests that include the topics of urine and feces.... yup I will talk about pee and poop here and there in this class. It is part of the job :-)

Age appropriate YouTube videos may be provided for viewing after the recorded lesson. They are carefully chosen and safely embedded in the online classroom. They are option.
Personal experience of 30+ years in a veterinary practice as a certified veterinary technician and I am finishing my Master of Veterinary Education degree from Lincoln Memorial University School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2024.
