Research supports children learning languages at young ages, and coding is a type of language. The earlier a child becomes interested in coding and begins learning to code, the stronger that skill will become. This introductory, "pre-reader to coding" teaches children what coding is, why it is important, and how to do entry level coding. It does not use a specific "language" at this point, but will teach your child basic coding concepts to apply to other programming languages, like Scratch,...

I teach second grade STEM for a virtual school in Florida. During my 34 years of teaching experience, I have taught entry level coding to countless children.
There are teacher-created, beginning coding worksheets each day that will need to be printed. The day before each class, I will send the attachments through your child's Outschool account. Other supplies: *pencil *blank paper
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
