This course is designed for young tap dancers who have never tapped before. We will start out with the very basics of tap, just getting used to tapping our feet in a way that make proper sounds with proper technique. Week 1: Getting used to our tap shoes, which are recommended, but not required. We will get used to the proper placement of our feet while tapping. Week 2: Continuing to get comfortable with tapping and learning basic moves. Week 3: Continuing to learn basic moves including shuffles, flaps, and ball changes. Week 4: Solidifying our knowledge of basic tap steps and putting them together to create a short combination. In each class we will start with a short warmup that will move into practicing specific moves. We will learn new moves and learn how to use our feet to tap through across the floor exercises and creating combinations that show our knowledge of tap dancing. *tap shoes are recommended, but not required.
