Class Experience

(Flex Class Schedule)
This 4-week non-live, interactive, and engaging, pre-recorded flexible class is designed to incorporate a circle time experience with hands-on engaging math activities using up to 10 various small counting objects found right in the learner's home.

Please Note: This is a Flexible Schedule class. This means we will not meet live.

This flex class is designed for learners to watch pre-recorded circle-time videos at a designated time that best fits their schedule. Flexible classes are perfect for busy families, for learners who do not prefer live classes, and it is perfect for learners and parents interested in these types of courses.

Flex classes are good because these classes allow the learner to pause the video and practice the activity or it just allows the learner to rewind the video and watch it over and over and over again.

Please Note: This particular flex class focuses only on numbers 0 to 10, and is great to be used as a beginner’s course to basic early math skills or a course for students just beginning to recognize numbers 0 to 10.

Just a friendly reminder, this class is a beginner’s course and may not be challenging for learners who have mastered identifying numbers 1 to 10, and learners that have already mastered basic addition using numbers within 10, but All are welcome to take this course.

During this Flex non-live class, learners will identify numbers 0 to 10, learners will practice counting using one–to–one correspondence, learners will match numbers to their quantities, learners will add numbers 0 to 10, learners will play Bingo games, learners will participate in scavenger hunts, and learners will interact with daily engaging circle time experiences.

In this non-live flex class, learners will be able to access all material/content via the classroom page on Outschool. Although there will not be any live meetings, there will be many, many opportunities to consistently interact with the teacher and with other learners that are enrolled in this non-live flex class.

Learner to Educator Interaction:
1. Interactive, and engaging daily circle time pre-recorded videos with Google Slide presentations, singing, dancing, and a variety of poems and fingerplays.

2. Daily teacher demonstrations and modeling of worksheet activities and assignments.

3. Personalized video, audio or chat teacher feedback on learner-posted activities, assignments, and drawings.

4. Group feedback on the question of the day.

6. Teacher participation in the “Weather Report” drawing activity.

7. Teacher participation in the “Number of the Day” scavenger hunt activity.

Learner to Learner:
 1. Learners will share a picture or a video with their classmates of their scavenger hunt objects.

 3. Learners will comment on at least one learner's “Decorated Number of the Day” craft activity post. ( Please see scheduled activity.)

 4. Every Friday, learners will interact with each other by sharing with their classmates a picture or a short video post of one of the following: their favorite toy, their favorite book, their favorite stuffed animal, or their favorite healthy snack.

Learner to Flex course:
1. Engaging, interactive pre-recorded videos with songs, finger-plays, Bingo games, scavenger hunts, and poems.

2. Daily worksheets/activities.

3. Google Slide presentations.

4. Announcements.

Young learners should expect this class to be an engaging and interactive circle time, math, and literacy experience. Teaching tools that I will use to maximize children's learning and to make this class more engaging and interactive:

1. Comprehensive open-ended discussion questions and age-appropriate class discussions, poems, rhymes, or short teacher-made stories.

2. Question of the day such as: Would You Rather questions, What Would Happen if questions, True / False questions, or Yes / No questions.

3. Finger-plays, songs, nursery rhymes, poems, and Google slide presentations.

4. Puppets, stuffed animals. Colorful objects such as cars, trucks, and blocks.

5. Number cards, and weather picture cards.

6. Dry erase board.

7. Recorded videos.

8. Various age-appropriate math worksheets.

9. Teacher demonstrations and teacher modeling of activities.

10. Bingo games

11. Scavenger hunts.

During this 4-week flex class, I will post one interactive Circle time video daily, Monday through Friday by 9 a.m. (CST). These circle time videos will contain a combination of songs, fingerplays, poems, nursery rhymes, weather reports, days of the week, number of the day, the question of the day, Bingo games, Google Slide presentations, and teacher participation in the assigned learner activities.

I will also post one short instructional video daily, Monday through Friday by 9 a.m. (CST). These videos will explain the lesson worksheet and activities for the day and any other classwork.

All work can be printed, and once completed, uploaded to the classroom so that I may check for accuracy. Learners will also upload assignments, and videos to share with their classmates daily. Learners will receive personalized video, audio, or chat feedback on their assignments daily, and learners will comment on their classmate's work/drawings daily.

All learners will be able to ask questions to the teacher, as well as to their classmates by posting questions on the class page.

Assignments are due daily, but again, this is a flex class, so assignments may be turned in at a time that best fits your schedule.

With that being said, all assignments have a mandatory deadline every Friday before we begin the next week of assignments. This mandatory deadline will help your learner to stay on track, and not get overwhelmed or behind with the assignments.

I check my emails throughout the day from 7 a.m. To 9 p.m. (CST) I will respond to emails and post on a daily basis off and on throughout the day.

Please Note: Again, this is a beginner’s math class, using numbers 1 to 10 only.
Learners will need parental support to print assignments, assist with the uploading and posting assignments, and supervision when using scissors and other art material.

Although parental support is needed, please allow your learner to do the work and assignments on their own. This allows me to assess the learner to see where I may need to give additional support to help the learner achieve the stated goals.

Here is a list of the learner's post responsibilities throughout the 4-Week Course:

1. Drawing of the weather where they live craft post. ( See scheduled activity.)

2. Decorated number of the day craft activity post. (Please see supply list.)

3. Responses to classmates' daily posts.

4. Daily question of the day response post.

5. Daily worksheets of the day. ( To teacher only )

6. Scavenger hunt number of the day picture or video post. ( Please see scheduled activity.)
