Bonjour! My name is Laura. I teach the class in French and I do translate as needed to help the learners to understand and memorize what they are learning. The class is for children from 8 to 11 years old. All are welcome but taking Loustics 2 before is recommended. We will read, listen to audio extracts, we will write sentences, work on paragraphs and conjugation, and sometimes have projects to create! The class is structured and part of a yearlong curriculum with new French things to learn every week. I am a fun teacher, I have a lot of patience, and I like to encourage the students to speak. À bientôt! Les Loustics 3 Unit 3: Le passé, c'est le passé! Welcome, everyone! I am looking forward to meeting you all and having fun while teaching to be fluent in French. Summary: Week 1: Que s'est-il passé? We will learn about how to report and explain "what happened", and how to relate past events using the past tense. We will review our pronominal verbs and how to use them in everyday situations. In the workbook, we fill in the various exercises in reference to lesson 1. We will read and write in French during our lesson. Spelling: Autodictée. Week 2: Tu es malade? tu t'es fait mal? We will learn to talk about reporting illnesses, accidents, and diseases. We will learn vocabulary. We will listen to an audio extract and answers the questions. In the workbook, we will read sentences and mark them as true or false. We will learn a few verbs and explain what they mean and learn how to find the infinitive. We will read and write in French what we learn in our lesson. Spelling: Autodictée. Conjugaison: Le passé composé. Week 3:Tu es malade? Tu t'es fait mal? Audio: "What are they saying", class interaction. Paragraph reading and numbers in thousand reviews We continue to explore illnesses, accidents, diseases, body parts, and their vocabulary in French. We continue to practice and review how to describe a person physically. We will read and write in French what we learn in our lesson. Week 4: Où es-tu allé? Qu'as-tu fait? We will learn the vocab in relation to how to organize events. Time concept lexical, chronological order of events in French. We will read and write in French what we learn in our lesson. Workbook and Spelling: Autodictée. Conjugaison: Le passé composé. Week 5: "Dis-moi" pages. Reading, understanding, and writing. Mini review of the first 3 lessons. Spelling: Autodictée writing. In the workbook, exercises/review in reference to our lesson 5. Week 6: Conjugaison: Le passé composé of the 2 auxiliaries: Etre et Avoir. Pronominal verbs. Cultural facts: Les évènements du passé. Learning Goals
They will practice and use the "passé composé". They will learn to practice how to conjugate pronominal verbs in the present tense.T hey will practice their French writing each week and are encouraged to speak in full sentences.
