Class Experience

Do you have a group of people (friends, family, neighbors, etc) who want to learn American Sign Language together? If so, then this is the perfect class for you. Please have a contact person reach out to me and we will plan a class schedule for a time that works for your group.

*** Minimum class size is 5 students ***

*** 20% discount for siblings ***

*** Because this class is for groups who already know each other, the age range is completely flexible ***

In this fun and interactive class, we will spend time going over the proper way to make hand shapes to represent various topic related words using American Sign Language (sports, animals, feelings, transportation, food, etc.) The first part of class will involve learning the topic words. The second part of class we will spend time applying the signs to make sentences and do various activities either together as a class or in partner groups. The best way to remember new vocabulary is to use them in practical ways and through repetition.

Learners in this class will engage in activities to practice the new signs they just learned. Activities may include partner practice, flash card-style practice, repetition, and visual cue practice.

No prior knowledge or ASL experience required, I will teach you everything you need to know to learn how to sign various fun topics using ASL!

If there is any extra time I will take requests over specific signs not covered in the class.

I am certified to teach American Sign Language, I taught levels one, two, and three in public high school for seven years before deciding to stay home after my first child was born, and I absolutely loved my job. ASL is such a beautiful, rich language, and I have an absolute blast teaching it to others!
