Class Experience

Latin is one of the most important, enduring languages of the ancient world. In this four-week course, you continue learning the language of Caesar!

Week One: Chapter Ten, learning about Roman education, first and second person plural
Week Two: Begin Chapter Eleven, further uses of the dative case
Week Three: Continue Chapter Eleven, learn about Roman politics
Week Four:Chapter Twelve, first and second person imperfect, and we celebrate because we have finished Book One!

Note: It is highly recommended that learners have strong sight-reading skills for unfamiliar words.

Supply List
A PFD textbook will be provided. For those interested in a fantastic interactive digital version of our books, one can purchase a relatively inexpensive subscription (about $13 for the year) to Cambridge Elevate, which will give access to all of the books in the series, plus additional material. Purchasing a hard copy of the textbook is recommended for for students who are not tech-savvy (used is perfectly fine, edition doesn't matter very much).

The text we use is the Cambridge Latin Course Unit One
