In this 5 week course, students will not only become familiar with fractions but will master the art of fractions. Lessons, games, and quizzes are included!

In this 5 week course we will learn all the basics of fractions. We will be using visual representation of fractions as well as word problems to help understand them better. Students are encouraged to engage and participate in games as we learn more and more each week. Students can use the chat or speak on the microphone during class.

Week 1Lesson 1What is a fraction?In this lesson, students will begin to become familiar with what a fractions is and how they are represented. They will learn the parts of a fractions and what those represent also.Week 2Lesson 2Recognizing visual fractionsIn this lesson, students will start identifying fractions using visual representations such as a pie or pizza.Week 3Lesson 3Make your own fractionsIn this lesson, students will create and color in their own fractions and learn to identify them on their own.Week 4Lesson 4Comparing fractionsIn this lesson, students will learn to compare larger and smaller fractions and put them in correct orders.Week 5Lesson 5Word Problems and FractionsIn this lesson, students will work out word problems involving fractions to put all of their knowledge to the test to show what they know!
Students will understand the basics of fractions by participating in games and taking quizzes. Students will have the opportunity to show what they know at the end of each class as well as during the last lesson.

I use 99math as a fun way for students to practice skills. I also use blooket to allow students to have a fun competition during class while also learning.
