Through interactive book readings, games, and conversations with friends, students will learn to say their "k" and "g" sounds in words, sentences, and conversation, while receiving feedback from a graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology! During the lesson, the instructor will provide cues unique to each learner and their learning style. This lesson is designed to be student-focused, and thus, will revolve around the interests of the student and their peers. By the end of the class, students will be expected to verbally produce the target sound in words and sentences, or close approximations to the target sounds, to demonstrate understanding of the cues provided during the lesson.

Students will improve their understanding of where to produce the "k" and "g" sounds in their mouth, as well as some tips and tricks to help them remember how to produce these sounds.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello friends!
My name is Jodie Carlson and I am so eager to have you in my virtual classroom! I earned my Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Geneva College in 2018, and I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana.
My lessons are student-focused, engaging, and incorporate a lot of practice. I have played basketball from a young age throughout college and understand the importance that practice makes perfect! In my classes, I will be focusing on speech sound production and language acquisition for young learners. I would love to know what each learner enjoys in order to incorporate this into each lesson and make it more meaningful for them.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have. I'm looking forward to seeing you in my classroom soon! :)
