US Grade 3 - 5
Each class will be taught how to read well and enjoy what they are reading.
This will include during the course:

Group reading in a comfortable setting.
Comments, discussions and role play.
Examples of reading skills.
Positive feedback in class.

Reading skills and strategies will be explored and demonstrated too.
Here is a list of some of the skills learned:

The three areas of a fluent reader will be discussed and examined and practised.
1 Speed - Word chunking, Timing, Improved Vocabulary, Markers and practice.
2 Accuracy - Word recognition, Visualization, Sounds of words.
3 Prosody - Expressiveness, intonation, rhythm and emphasis.
Each class will be tailored to the needs of the student's present ability and potential in reading.
An agreed book for reading as a group will be discussed in class.

For fun, as an example, if we were to read Beatrix Potter, the students may wish to dress up as the characters they are reading or practice the voice of their favourite animal during the dialogue.

Each class may include a theme and reading skill introduced at the beginning of each lesson.

Each student will be set a goal for reading each week.
Students will need to bring a book they are reading, agreed by the parents to read in their first class.
We will look at reading the same book in class during the course.

The teacher will give some examples of reading and stress some of the ways to improve on one's reading skills.

We will also include Vocabulary, Comprehension, Pronunciation and Punctuation.

The only requirement to join is a willing attitude to read.

I have been teaching English online for a while and have a TESOL certificate qualifying me for teaching students English as a second language. My personality is always patient and kind to all my students and this has often resulted in bringing out the best in those I teach. English is my native language. I have also taught privately in Spain in a local school, students from the age of 4 to 8, English and Adults as a second language too. I love to teach English as this is an important aspect of global education today.
My ethos in teaching is to inspire, encourage and motivate students as they learn so that they enjoy their lessons and have fun too.

Additionally, I teach how to play the flute and guitar and teach this in a unique way tailor-made to every individual student needs and sense of fun.
