Arabic 101 - Greetings and Farewells in Arabic

In this class, students will learn Arabic greetings and farewells. By the end of this lesson, students will be able to greet each other and say good-bye correctly in Arabic using a variety of words/expressions. 
Here are examples of words we will be learning :
- Hello
- Good morning/ afternoon/ evening
- How are you?
- I'm good
- My name is ---
- Good- bye. 
We will start our class by learning some basic words related to self introduction such as "hello", "my name is ...". Then, we will learn different words used in Arabic for greetings and farewells. As a brain break, we will enjoy listening/ singing along with the Arabic song (  مرحباً، أهلاً | Hello, how are you? | آدم ومشمش | Adam and Mishmish)  that recycles the words we have just learned. Then, we will practice our target words in a small conversation format. We will also work on a matching activity ( This document will be available before class so that you can print it out).
This class is suitable for children with little to no prior knowledge of Arabic since we are going to focus on the verbal part of the language more than writing. 
In my class, I like to give my students a lot of opportunities to speak and practice the words they have learned. We will follow the model " I do, we do, you do" to provide my students with enough language input and scaffolding to reach their learning goals. 
I use slides along with prompts, flashcards and realia to provide my students with visual support and encourage them to participate.
