Class Experience

In this 4 week science course, students will have the unique opportunity to complete a physics camp at home! Students will dive into 4 foundational physics concepts and apply them through fun, engaging labs. Each week, we will discuss and learn a new physics concept. As a class, we will learn definitions, see examples and complete a practice problem. Then, we will take the physics concepts and apply them to a unique lab each week. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a hands-on physics class. Course schedule (Each Lab will take 2 class periods. Day 1 will be for concept, vocabulary and lab instructions. Day 2 will be for lab completion as a class and will be 100% hands on.
Lab 1: Marble/Hot Wheel racers: Speed, velocity and acceleration application
Lab 2: Robocopter flyer: Speed and velocity in flight
Lab 3: Garden hose sprayer: Optimal projection and displacement
Lab 4: How strong are you: Human body as a system of levers

Learning Goals

Students will build understanding in key physics' principles.
Students will learn how to take classroom concepts and apply them to their lives and experiences.
