Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to: scan iambic pentameter, differentiate between prose and poetry, read complicated text with expression, and use language patterns to analyze text
I hold a BA in Performing and Visual Arts with a focus in Early British Drama and Shakespeare and have won several awards for my work in this field. I have spent over 20 years studying and producing the works of Shakespeare and his contemporaries.
In my classes we use video, guests, and unconventional tools to learn the topic together. I design all of my instruction around first creating a safe space, then doing what I call a "Sweep the Corners" review at the start of each session. At the completion of the course, we always Pack Up our learning and set off into our vast world!
No homework.
All passages will be provided 24 hours before the start of class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This is a one-time course that does not require assessment.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Shakespeare's plays should broadly be considered to have PG-13 content
