We will learn all about the adaptations that make owls one of the greatest flying predators and an important part of ecosystems. We use entertaining and engaging presentation styles to create an interactive lesson. Allowing for questions and answers as well. Graphics, videos and other images will help us learn about all the different species of owls. What we learn will be brought to life by our 2 rescued owls Gizmo the Barn Owl and Tumbleweed the Great Horned Owl. The class will also compare and contrast to learn the similarities and differences between the two owls. No experience necessary. If class is under minimum enrollment 4 hours before start time - we will ask to re-enroll your learner in another section.
Learning Goals
Students will gain the knowledge of what an adaptation is and how it helps an animal to survive; specifically as they pertain to owls. Learners will understand an owls role in their environment as well as be able to compare and contrast two owls.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
We do discuss predator and prey interactions in an age appropriate way.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
We are currently taking a break from teaching with Outschool. To learn more about our organization please find us online!
We are a wildlife outreach & education facility located in sunny Southern California. For over three decades, we have been providing homes for animals in need; scaly, furry, or feathery or no bones at all. These animals are specifically trained to be around people & groups in order to share & teach about their cousins in their natural habitats.By creating a personal connection with our Animal Ambassadors we hope to inspire people to action, big or small, to help conserve the Earth we all live on.
We believe learning should be fun! Our professional Wildlife Educators incorporate “edu-tainment” into our programs that vary from Rainforest Conservation to Animal Adaptations. Engaging learners with fun intertwined with facts and laughs. Each class will introduce you to a few of our Animal Ambassadors to help us learn about the topic of the course.
