In this one-time Class, we will first learn about how Clouds form and discuss various types of clouds with multimedia visuals. Then, as a class, we will create our experiment. Based on the supplies you have, students can choose one project and time permitting may complete others. 1) A Cloud in a Jar - supplies are needed during the second half of Class and are listed in the Supply List section but include: glass jar with screw on lid, hairspray or other type of aerosol, hot water (not boiling), ice 2) Students may create a hands-on visual representation of the clouds we have learned about through the Lesson part and will need at least one piece of blue construction paper, cotton balls, and markers to label the clouds 3) a Rain Cloud - as time permits, we will need a glass jar, shaving cream or foaming hand soap, food coloring Class will be locked 10 min from start to avoid disruption and for student and teacher overall enjoyment. Once our Class recording is available everyone can watch our Class - this is especially important for those unable to attend during Class. #2 can be completed through the duration of our Lesson portion and the other can be completed after Lesson Time. You need: To complete a Sky of Varied Clouds: one piece of blue construction paper, cotton balls, and markers to label the clouds and thin markers, colored pencils, various blue markers thin to thick, blue crayons, glue Following this first experiment #1, and time permitting, we'll complete a second experiment #3 to create a rain cloud. Time permitting depends on engagement level of students throughout Class. **Supply List: Experiment Two: glass jar with lid very hot tap water (be safe - get parent help if you need it) several ice cubes aerosol hair spray **some have substituted spray sunscreen and spray deodorant Experiment Three: glass jar - no lid needed water shaving cream blue food coloring that has a dropper type opening **if you have shave gel, put some shave gel in a cup of water and if it floats, it should still work. Others have still had success depending on the shave gel. If you have a foaming soap, that works as well. I've had students substitute soy sauce, watered down paint, and even juice for the food coloring**

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello. I began my teaching career as a Highschool Student in 1987 as a State Certified Preschool Teacher. I attended USF (University of South Florida) in Tampa, FL and earned my Bachelor's Degree, cum laude, in Elementary Ed grades 1-6. I added two additional Certifications: English grades 6-12 and PreK-Primary (age 3 to grade 3). I am currently waiting for my Autism Endorsement to process through the DoE.
**I am very proud to say Outschool informed me Fall 2019 that I was the first to be approved for an Autism Social Club - I am honored to be a part of your child’s life**
I currently teach 1st grade in a small private school. Previously, I was a Lead VPK (Voluntary PreK) Teacher and have taught various grade levels in Preschools, Public and Private Schools from age 2 years old on up into high school with our own boys in our Home School Program. I've earned "Highly Effective" in all areas and love teaching.
I Homeschooled for 22 years - and even taught at public school, then VPK at a private school as I continued our Home School. Over the years, I have volunteered for our state-wide Homeschool Association and sat on our County School Board Homeschool Portfolio Review Committee. I pride myself on searching for ways to accommodate and adjust as needed to learner styles. I enjoy assisting families in their education decisions. I am special needs sensitive in the areas of ASD, TS, ADHD, and Gifted. Not only have I taught those with these diverse challenges in my classroom settings, but I am also parenting my own children who have them as well. Our Family is walking through a new Season with the passing of our Precious young son (Jan 2021).
Interesting facts about our Family: we have three SPCA rescued cats and enjoy playing Tennis and watching movies in our backyard home theatre :)
