Class experience
Welcome recruits to "Algebra Boot Camp," where we embark on a rigorous three-day mission to conquer the fundamentals of algebra. Each interactive session promises intense engagement with commanding presentations and examples shown, demanding active involvement (at least a valiant effort is expected). Week 1Lesson 1Variable & ExpressionsThis lesson is about understanding the role of variables in algebra. Students will grasp how variables represent unknown values and differentiate them from constants. We'll also cover combining like terms and dive into the essential order of operations (PEMDAS). Students will become pros at parentheses, exponents, multiplication and division, and addition and subtraction.Lesson 2Solving EquationsThis lesson will cover how to solve for a given variable to find what it is equal to, such as 5 + r = 10, or 7q - 10 = 14. We'll even delve into equations with variables on both sides, such as 2x + 5 = 3x - 2. We'll also get to some of those great Word Problems.Lesson 3Graphing & Linear FunctionsThis lesson covers graphing linear equations. We'll cover the slope-intercept form (y = mx + b) and how the slope and y-intercept influence the graph. Students will be able to interpret and analyze graphs, identifying slope, and y-intercept.
