Advanced Intermediate Saxophone Lesson-Level II

Continuing in the Accent on Achievement book 3 during this class, we will average 2 pages per lesson and there will be required homework each class. I will begin each lesson with review of what was taught the previous week and expect students to demonstrate an understanding of the assigned and practiced exercise(s). Students will then be introduced to the new concept (i.e. scales, rhythm, theory) as I will demonstrate, and then allow the students to sight read through the exercises for that day's lesson giving tips and helping as necessary. Each week students will focus on at least 2 scales- practicing by doing interval workouts and scale studies, as well as chromatic scales each week. There will be a minimum of three additional exercises (songs) which focus on the scales introduced each lesson. There will be various time signatures, to help familiarize students with playing music in different times. At the end of this course students will be prepared for Advanced Intermediate Lessons-Level III.
