In this 6-week class, learners will build strong foundational math skills through fun, engaging activities that focus on basic addition and subtraction. Each class features interactive games, visual aids, and story problems to help learners practice in a supportive, judgment-free environment. We’ll use everyday examples to make math meaningful and exciting, helping learners feel more confident in solving problems. At the end of each lesson, learners will play a math game to review what they’ve learned and keep the fun going! Just bring your thinking cap and a positive attitude!

What is Addition?
Learners will explore the concept of combining groups using pictures, objects, and number lines. We’ll practice writing and reading simple addition problems (e.g., 2 + 3 = 5). 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
What is Subtraction?
We’ll learn how subtraction means “taking away” and explore strategies like counting back and using fingers or manipulatives to find the difference. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Adding Numbers Up to 20
Learners will build fluency with one- and two-digit addition. We’ll play games and solve simple puzzles that strengthen mental math and help them spot number patterns. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Subtracting Numbers Up to 20
This week focuses on subtracting larger numbers using visual aids, fingers, and math tools. Learners will practice solving problems both with and without objects. 45 mins online live lesson

Supply List
• Pencil and paper or a whiteboard and marker • 10–20 small counting objects (toys, cereal, coins, etc.) • Printed worksheets (provided by the teacher each week) • A device to join the live class (computer or tablet) • A positive attitude and readiness to have fun with math!
