Students will learn the rules for adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators and demonstrate comprehension with a few examples. We will then do the same with adding fractions with unlike denominators. Finally we will see how things change when we have a mixed number. This lesson is meant to introduce, practice and extend. Students will leave the lesson with notes organized in a manner that they will be able to come back to them for any future assignments they might have.

The goal of this lesson is to have students add and subtract fractions and mix numbers fluently.Other Details

Please have students come to class prepared with a notebook, a pencil and at least two colored pens.
