Class Experience

In this ongoing series, students will learn new art techniques through action art! Action art inspires and motivates connecting learning and fun! In my experience as an art teacher, this technique of action art was always a favorite! A little bit of science mixed in with art makes each art piece unique and abstract! This kind of art spans all ages, younger children ages 4 and 5 may need a helper (older sibling can sit alongside and art along or adult)! Each class stands alone so join in the fun anytime!

Supplies will be needed for this course so always check the course list for necessary items for that week. I will also post a reminder of supplies each week to give you time to run to the store if you need!

ALL PROJECTS WILL NEED THICK PAPER. A watercolor paper or mixed media paper is best.

MASTER SUPPLY LIST CAN BE FOUND AT BOTTOM OF CLASS LISTING.

March 2- String Art Magic
Supplies: Watercolor paint, water, Paper and yarn

March 9- Blow Paint Cherry Tree
Supplies: Paper, straw, watercolor paint and water

March 16- Salt Painting Exploration
Supplies: paper, squirt glue, 1/2 cup salt (may need assistance on this part), trash can nearby, watercolor paint, marker

March 23 -Fork Painted Cactus
Supplies: Paper, fork, thick paper, thick paint (green and black or white needed), paintbrush and coloring supplies.

March 30 - DIY planet
Supplies: Small thick paper plates, thick paint, paper

MASTER LIST TO GATHER FOR MARCH: Thick Paint, Watercolor Paint, paintbrush, Markers, Crayon, Thick Paper, Squirt Glue, Paper Plates (for paint makes for easy clean up), Small paper plates for week 5, Plastic or Real Fork, Yarn, Straw, 1/2 cup salt. MOST ITEMS CAN BE FOUND IN YOUR HOUSE :) But some may have to be bought.

You may not see a masterpiece in this class, but I can GUARANTEE fun outside of our perfection eye! This class is ACTION art, which allows for freedom, creativity and exploration!

Learning Goals

To learn and have fun while exploring art, techniques, science and colors!

Other Details

Parental Guidance
This art class will get messy at times so prepare a space for that. This class may require a little assistance depending on age, maturity and fine motor skills! If I see a student struggling, I will ask them to get an adults help. Most classes should not require help. For 4 and 5 year olds, an adult or 1 older sibling will need to be present to help.
