This class will help each child to recognize the importance of Self Love and teach them some techniques to achieve good Self Esteem. They will discover their talents and strengths through our group conversations and weekly journaling.
Class experience
A Superstar is What You Are is a Self Esteem, Self Empowerment for youth, enlisting them to recognize their potential and believe in themselves. I will always begin the class with greetings and allowing each student to check-in. We will begin our lesson on the White board of the "third party" tool called Canva. In week one students will learn about their own personal worth and the importance of honoring, loving and valuing themselves. In week two students will discover all the good that life has already provided them and how being grateful can humble you and help you appreciate the blessings you already have. In week three students will learn how to recognize and reduce stressors by practicing deep breathing techniques, journaling and doing Art. In week four students will create their own tangible goals for having a healthy, happy life.
I have been teaching/mentoring/ working with youth for over 25 years in many different capacities such as; Residential Treatment, After School Programs, Non-Profits, Public School Education, Township School Education. I have written and created youth programs to address Self Esteem, Violence Prevention, Anger Management and Conflict Resolution.
Students will need to have a Journal/ Notebook of writing paper for this class as well as pens for writing.
