What's included

6 hrs 25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
**Note** This class is split into two parts. I recommend taking part 1 first, but either can be taken independently. This is a comprehensive course that includes handouts and resources for each session of class that can be tools for you long after class ends. We follow a tree analogy to learn how to nourish ourselves and produce fruit in our lives. Part 1 of the course covers the SOIL, HEART, and BODY section. Part 2 covers the MIND, SOUL, SYSTEMS & STRUCTURE, PURPOSE & PASSION, and SHARING YOUR GIFTS sections. Here is a link to Part 1 of the course if desired: https://outschool.com/classes/85466dcd-5ca5-4a1e-bbc9-1ad8c93a9a06?sectionUid=85e14729-11ba-44d9-9b28-3ce5b07f0973#usDVkBVctA A detailed syllabus for part 2 of the class is below: Week 1: MIND section (Begin with the end in mind) I will review the tree analogy for those who did not take part 1 of the course. We will update our life visions and make plans for a vision board. Time during class is given to start creating your own vision board! This will keep you focused on your goals and desires as we progress in the upcoming weeks. Homework: Finish your vision board Week 2: MIND section (The power of thoughts) Thoughts affect feelings which affect actions and results. Today we discuss how to use your thoughts to your advantage! Negative thoughts are powerful; but so are positive ones! We discuss how to change thoughts from negative to neutral to positive in a realistic pattern of change. An in-class activity is used to re-write your own story and find power in the thoughts you choose to have about yourself. Homework: Record self-talk and work to improve the focus and quality of your thoughts. Week 3: SOUL section Today we discuss the importance of nourishing your soul. Methods are discussed that may help, such as meditation, spending time in nature, journaling, etc. We take time in class to clarify your values. These are based on you and your desires and not any set expectation, but identifying and writing down the values you hold dear helps to guide the actions you take in the future. Identifying what your "center" is and how it affects you (we can be self-centered, work-centered, etc.) is also discussed. Homework: Interview someone you consider to be wise or "soul" focused. Consider what you can learn from them OR pick one thing to do to nourish your soul this week. Week 4: SYSTEMS & STRUCTURE This is the week we put more order to your day and life! Setting up regular systems to help can be a big motivator and time saver. We will discuss time management skills as well as setting priorities. We discuss a time matrix that gives perspective into how you spend your time. I also give assignments in class and worksheets afterwards to help you organize your daily routines and priorities to-do's for the next day. Homework: Log how much time you spend doing what for 3 days to see what quadrant your activities fall into. Week 5: SYSTEMS & STRUCTURE We finish what we started last week by setting yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals. We discuss physical organization and dividing responsibilities into different days of the week. A heads up is given regarding the presentation that is due the last week of class, and options are given to help along the way. Homework: Perform "CPR" on an area in your home (categorize, purge, and rearrange) & submit an idea for the final presentation to me Week 6: DISCOVERING YOUR PURPOSE AND PASSION We discuss how to tune in to your passions with an activity to help. Passions often stem from strengths that you have, so we discuss how to tune in to the strengths you possess and what lights you up in your life. Class 7 is about sharing your gifts, so we use a portion of class time to prepare for week 7 where students present their passion. Homework: Finish preparing your presentation Week 7: SHARING YOUR GIFTS Students will share what they have prepared. I will give options in the previous weeks and help in whatever ways I can. A "presentation" is anything the student is passionate about. The idea of class is to nurture your own needs and growth to the point that you can share fruit with other people. If a student is passionate about helping other people eat healthy, they can share a powerpoint presentation or something similar with the class. Whatever the passion is, we will make a way for the student to share during class. Each student will have 5-8 minutes of sharing time. Thank you for attending class!! For those who have completed the first and second part of the course, I give a certificate of completion to. I offer 1:1 coaching for those interested in continuing the journey you began in class! https://outschool.com/classes/private-coaching-session-experience-real-growth-ByprQAGX#usDVkBVctA
