Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
The 5 cats discussed in this class:
Mountain Lion
Canada Lynx
Jaguar
Cheetah
Caracal

Each cat is discussed on two Google slide pages and 5 interesting/necessary facts are shared with students such as: their weight/size, what makes them unique, how many babies they have, and other facts.

After learning 5 facts about various large cats, students will be asked which fact they found the most interesting.
At the end of the 30-minute class, students will report which bird from our class was their favorite and why.

Students VOTE on their favorite cat. When one of the cats receives FIVE votes, I create a longer class dedicated to their favorite and replace the cat with a new cat in this course. Previously featured cats in this course were: snow leopards and Siberian tigers.

Class structure:
Introductions, rules, schedule
Introduction to new vocabulary
Group interaction
Direct instruction
Question and Answer
Summaries can be done verbally or written via the chatbox
Visuals, audio, and/or videos

My teaching style is fun, engaging, and student-centered. I enjoy adding animations, pictures, audio, videos and tangible examples for students to remain engaged. I encourage and promote class discussion (both verbally and in the chatbox features)

No former knowledge is needed for this class as this is a very brief overview of each of the five cats featured. Although cat enthusiasts are absolutely welcomed and encouraged to join our discussion and share what they know with our class!
