US Grade Kindergarten - 2
I will teach 4 steps to spell correctly. 1. Count the syllables in the word. 2. Then, draw a horizontal line for each syllable. 3. Next, write each syllable on the appropriate horizontal line. 4. Finally, write the word. I will also teach the spelling of certain syllables such as -tion, -ight, -ing, -ture along with certain sight words. Will primarily use the whiteboard but will add IXL to review. I use positive reinforcement and lots of practice to ensure the student has mastered the 4 steps.

I have taught all of my adult life. I have taught in many mediums - traditional classrooms, virtual classrooms, and a tutoring business which I established and ran for 25 years. I love teaching and cherish the times I witness their learning. I find that the times I spend with children are some of my most precious times.
I love teaching children everything. I want to teach basic math and reading and help students that may need more instruction and/or practice. However, I am looking forward to also teaching some other courses - some math tricks, identifying emotions, and how to best act from them. I have 3 daughters and 5 grandkids that I love unconditionally. I live in Florida and enjoy having the Atlantic so close.
My teaching is based on small steps and positive experiences. Those 2 items promote high self-confidence and academic success.
