Assessment
There’s an informal assessment at the end of the lesson.Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 1
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: ***I teach classes with my baby in the room or by wearing baby. Baby may be seen or heard at times during class.*** This lesson is geared towards kindergarten and beginning 1st grade. However, I know there are some learners that find it challenging, so I put the age up to 7. If you know your learner finds it difficult adding numbers 0-9 to make 10, this class is for them. We will be making 10 together. We will start class by counting to 10 and watching a short clip on what numbers make 10, What Numbers Make 10 by Jack Hartmann. We will use our fingers, 10 frames, dot cards, and number bonds when we are adding to 10. These are strategies I used when teaching in the classroom for 1st grade. We will have a few worksheets to go along with the lesson and games. At the end, I will assess your learner by giving them a number and asking what number goes with it to make 10.
Learning Goals
Learner will be able to make 10 using different strategies presented in the class.

Hello! Welcome to my learning page! I am so glad you found it and are here!
My name is Mrs. Makenna! I love all things math, phonics, reading and sensory play. I even like some science and geography. I taught in the classroom before I started moving around the country with my husband’s job. We love to travel and explore new places. I have been all over the United States and Central America.
My passion is working with children, and I have missed being in the classroom. However, online teaching has been just as fun! I have had the pleasure of working with some learners for several years and have seen so much growth in them. I can’t wait to watch your learner(s) grow, too.
I believe every learner is unique and can learn at their own pace. Learning is so much better when we are having fun in the process. Let’s have some fun together! See you in the classroom soon!
