Japanese Fashion has a rich history! The Japanese strongly hold onto their traditions and history - Japanese traditional clothing is an important part of their lives. Traditional Japanese clothing 和服 (wafuku) is still popular due to the unique heritage and amazing culture. Dozens of traditional Japanese clothing styles are widely worn for festivals and holidays. Western style clothing 洋服(yōfuku) was mixed with Japanese traditional clothing to create a new fashion culture. Fashion interpretations and styles morphed into contemporary Japanese street fashion couture, such as Harajuku Style. Cosplay (wearing costumes of Anime characters) is considered an art form in Japan. There are many famous cosplayers and events for fans. In this group, we will explore the uniqueness of Japanese fashion. We will uncover its history, past influences and trends, present and even the future of Japanese fashion. Japanese words (vocabulary) of the fashion types will be presented. Learn the Japanese words for Japanese Traditional Clothing, Street Fashion and Cosplay Wear! >> Members will be able to interact in this Japanese Fashion Group by: DISCUSSION POSTS: Weekly themes and topics will be posted to encourage members to share their experiences or dreams of Japanese fashion. PHOTOS: Members can share photos of Japanese fashion and their opinions . GAMES: There will be monthly online trivia game and printable games about Japanese fashion for members to enjoy. MATERIALS: Members can look at related materials about Japanese fashion which will be periodically provided, such as articles, presentations, and videos. Plus more! >> Moderator Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) : DISCUSSION POSTS: Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) will post weekly themes and topics, including as facts, trivia, and questions about Traditional Clothing, Street Fashion and Cosplay Wear! PHOTOS: Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) will be sharing a ton of Japanese fashion photos, including cosplay! Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) will even share photos of her cosplay and anime clothing! Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) will moderate all photos/images for appropriateness. GAMES: Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) will be posting monthly online trivia game and printable games about Japanese fashion. MATERIALS: Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) will provide related materials about Japanese fashion, such as articles, presentations, and videos. Plus more! Discover Japan through its fashion!

Be Respectful - Treat others how you want to be treated.
Keep language clean and information you share safe. If you wouldn't say it or share with your grandma, don't do it here. Swear words, racy videos, and violent images are not allowed. Treat Outschool like a public place, and when in doubt, keep things covered.

Teacher Lynn completed her Master’s degree in Oita, Japan. She was a teaching assistant for Japanese middle school, high school, and university in-person classes in Japan. She has been living in Japan for 5 years. Teacher Lynn not only intensely studied the Japanese language, but fell in love with Japanese culture and discovered the passion for sharing such a beautiful language with students. She has been a private Japanese online tutor for over 2 years.
