Attention aspiring poets! Learn a different style of poetry each day and then write your own poem to share with the group (if you choose). Come to the group with an open mind that's full of creativity and ideas. We're all new to the art of writing poems, so don't be afraid to think outside the box. Here's a tentative schedule of what we'll cover: Day 1: Acrostic Day 2: Couplets Day 3: Haiku Day 4: Limerick Day 5: Sonnets/Poetry Share Most poetry will be written outside of class time....
I LOVE WRITING! I've had several poems published and I love to write poems for fun. I've done this unit of poetry many times for many ages from kindergarten to sixth grade. Anyone at any age can write poetry!
Students can write poetry on a piece of paper or type them in Word or Google.
