Class meets once every week.  Each student will produce a 6 paragraph essay, including an introduction, conclusion, and transitional sentences. 

I have over 30 years of teaching experience. I am endorsed in School Counseling K-12 (Masters Degree), Elementary Education, and Special Education K-12, and I have a middle school English endorsement. I regularly worked with students on writing essays.

Students need to come prepared for class with their topic, main ideas and details ready to go. If a student is not finished with the essay, they can finish at home and feedback will be given on the finished essay, however I have found most do best if they work in class.  Students can take more than one week per essay if needed.  If assistance is needed student can message the teacher. If parents want the students to work outside of class, they can let me know.

Teacher will provide feedback, no formal assessment is given. I do have rubrics on the different types of essays posted in the classroom.

The class uses google docs as we construct the essays, this is very helpful for those with learning differences. Every student works at their own pace. I can work with the family on how to help specific needs.

Students need to be able to type on a google doc. The essays are 6 paragraphs long, so they need to have ideas for 4 main ideas and details.
