American / World History 
() Historical Thinking, Standard 2: Appreciate historical perspectives–the ability (a) describing the past on its own terms, through the eyes and experiences of those who were there, as revealed through their literature, diaries, letters, debates, arts, artifacts, and the like; (b) considering the historical context in which the event unfolded–the values, outlook, options, and contingencies of that time and place; and (c) avoiding “present-mindedness,” judging the past solely in terms of present-day norms and values.

Common Core ELA 
() Key Ideas and Details (SS/LITERACY.RH.6-8.3): Identify key steps in a text's description of a process related to history/social studies.

I am a graduate of Charleston Southern University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and History and currently am certificated in Elementary, Early Childhood, and Early Childhood Special Education. As a member of Learning for Justice, I am up-to-date on current issues and best teaching practices in order to align my classroom for the goal of to inform accurate details in a fun learning environment where children and youth feel respected, valued and welcome participants.
