**Note: Please be sure to have a tuner available for class; either as an app on your phone or as a small tuner device easily available for purchase online or your local music store.** In this one-time class for absolute beginners, we will begin with an interactive lecture about learning correct terms (frets, chords, strumming, tuning, etc.), identifying the different parts of our instruments (strings, body, bridge, fret board, neck, etc.), and tuning our instruments. After that we will move...
Students will learn correct music terms (frets, chords, strumming, tuning, etc.), identify the different parts of our instruments (strings, body, bridge, fret board, neck, etc.), and how to tune our instruments [student will bring their own tuners to class]. Then we will also learn the 4 primary chords [Am, G, F, C], and end by playing 1 or 2 simple songs.

A ukulele tuner app is highly beneficial (and free). I use one simply called "ukelele tuner" from the Apple store; it has a mint green background and over-sized white letters that spell "uku-lele". The student may also want to watch YouTube tutorial videos as review or extra practice on the topics and techniques that we learn in class.
