In this ongoing class we will talk about the interesting articles we read in the previous week's "The Week Junior" magazine. Each week students will be able to talk about and share their thoughts and ideas about different articles they found interesting. We will spend time discussing the "big debate" section of the magazine with everyone being able to share their reasons why they feel the way that they do on that week's topic. Many articles will be expanded upon to promote fun, respectful...
Students will learn how to read with the idea of retaining information so that they can confidently discuss their thoughts and opinions on a variety of subjects. They will learn that while we may not agree on every topic we can listen respectfully and understand that people can have differing points of view from ourselves and still be friends. They will gain confidence in their speaking skills and the ability to express themselves.
A subscription to The Week Junior magazine is required to fully participate in the class.
