Hi! This class is going to be structured in the same away that a Dungeons and Dragons campaign is ran; our first session together will be setting the scene of the story and quests they need to take care, learning how they want to play the game, and get the students familiar with each other and their game characters they are playing. From that point forward, the students will work together to decide on what to do next; will they go chase down a group of people trying to steal a magical...

Students will develop their teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills through partaking in the adventure of the D&D game. Students will also be able to develop their inventory tracking skills, being organized, and how to resource manage their character's abilities and spells.

The students do not get assessed in a regular way; they know they are making great story progress when they hit certain milestones in the game, find out a lot of information, or defeat enough conflicts to level up their characters. By the end of this campaign, their characters will reach level 19.提供的成績
A level 16 character, a way to roll dice (physically or virtually), and if they want to take notes- a way to do so!
This is a game where students may have to have their characters fight with creatures and other enemies, much like any other video game or game in general. I am very careful to ensure descriptions are not too in-depth and often encourage the students to describe things in a way that is comfortable for them. It is only a game though, no real life violence or danger is present during this game.
We will be referring to The Rise of Tiamat campaign book throughout the class, but most of this class will be created freely from the book (homebrewed), so if students read the adventure or know of it, it will be quite different than what is written.
