In this class, we will introduce how to use the Snap Circuits kits. You can use any kit that they have. For this class, I use the Snap Circuits 100 kit. We discuss electrical safety, how to use the kit, and how to modify designs to invent our own creations. I use a demonstration camera to show exactly what I build. This allows you to see me and the designs at the same time. The most fun part is to see students proud to show what they have created. I am a big believer in the power of show...

Snap circuits give the chance to build and create without sharp tools or hot solder. This makes them great for kids. As per the instruction book that comes with the Snap Circuits kit by Elenco, parents should make sure batteries are taken out of the battery pack after children play and build. Further, the small pieces and batteries should not be handled by siblings under 3 years old as they could be a choking hazard. What I do, is keep the pieces in a box so that they stay contained and away from my amazingly curious toddler :). Some children love following the projects to the T, and others take free-invention time to the max for the whole club time. Both of these personalities are amazing. I help guide and troubleshoot all types of inventions. What makes it fun is that the other children can pose their ideas to help their friends refine their inventions.
