🌟 1:1 JavaScript/p5.js for Ages 9-14 🌟 🎨 In this personalized 1:1 class, your student will become a creative coder! Together, we’ll design cool projects using p5.js 🖥️. They'll learn the fundamentals of programming—like loops, variables, and debugging—while thinking like a designer 🎮. Each week, coding topics will include: 🔄 Sequencing, loops, and conditionals 🎛️ Variables and sensors 🔍 Debugging, operators, and more! 💡 The 1:1 format ensures maximum interaction and support! We’ll build projects step by step, and your child will get real-time answers to their questions and encouragement to keep going 🚀. 📚 Class Structure: Each session is highly interactive! We’ll begin with a brief introduction to the day’s topic 🎤, followed by coding together step-by-step 🛠️. We'll introduce new concepts, then guide your student as they create their own unique project. Each class wraps up with a review and Q&A session 💬. 🔍 What makes this class unique? In addition to mastering core programming concepts, students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world projects, from interactive games to animated stories. The personalized pace allows for deep dives into areas of interest, whether it's enhancing creativity through design or improving technical skills through complex problem-solving. The curriculum adapts to your child's learning speed, ensuring both beginners and experienced coders can thrive. 🌟 🎨 Themes: December 23rd-January 19th: Multiplayer games January 20th-Februrary 16th: Run a Restaurant February 17th-March 16th: Fairy Tales March 17th-April 13th: Green Future Please Note: This class runs on a set schedule, with lessons progressing through a 4-week cycle. New learners are welcome to join at any point during the cycle, but they may start partway through an ongoing project. If you’d prefer to begin at the start of a new cycle, feel free to check with us above for the upcoming schedule! ✨ Note for Parents: Your student will need: A free p5.js account at "editor.p5js.org" 🌐 A laptop or desktop with Zoom & screen sharing 🎥 Internet speed of 3mbs+ 🌍 Working mic, speaker, and webcam 🎤💻 ℹ️ Please have an adult available for the first 5 minutes of class to assist with setup.

Students will use p5.js to participate in class. Students must access their own p5.js account using a laptop or a computer in class (no smartphone or tablets). Students will use their own account to code while following instructions from the teacher.

A working speaker, microphone, and webcam 🎤🎥. All Windows and Mac operating systems from the last five years are supported 🖥️. ⚠️ iPads are not recommended. Please have an adult available for the first 5 minutes to assist with setup and troubleshooting.
