Intermediate Ukulele Level 1 (Ages 8-11)

Experience Necessary

This is a class for students who have taken my Ukulele for Beginners Levels 1 - 12 OR for students who have been playing for 2 or more years and have the chords C, G, Am, F, Dm, G7, C7, D and Em memorized and have a solid understanding of basic rhythm and strumming.

If you are not sure if this class is suitable for your child please message me outlining their experience.

New songs in this class include: Pompeii and Wipeout

Classes begin with warmups and exercises which encourage the development of excellent technique. Warmups include finger isolation exercises to develop strength in the left-hand and strumming exercises to develop right-hand technique.

Techniques we will focus on are:
Barre chords
Fingerpicking
Reading Music Charts

Students will be encouraged (but not required) to perform in the 16th class.

At this level, students should practice 15 - 30 minutes daily in order to maintain everything they have learned so far and to continue building on the new skills learned in class.
Slideshows will become available to the students after class to use for practicing at home.
