Welcome to Saxon Maths 7/6 Class Part 1/2 

Together we will conquer lessons 1 - 59 of Saxon Math 7/6 

Each week we will cover 1-5 lessons, the practice set, and any remaining time will be spent on the problem set. Then we will independent work on the rest of the problem set. 

Math doesn’t need to be scary - and together we will overcome every challenge that your leaner faces. I am happy to meet on a one-off basis, in preparation for an exam, or to tackle a specific issue, or as an ongoing regularly scheduled class. 

This class is perfect for parents who would like to outsource math instruction, or do not necessarily feel comfortable teaching the material. I will meet your learner where they are academically and guide them through the material at a pace that is comfortable to them. 


APPROACH.
My approach to teaching maths is keeping the material fun and interactive. I don’t like to lecture - instead preferring to engage the students and make them invested in the material. 

SUPPLIES. 
I have digital copies of the 7/6 Textbook, Worksheets, Tests and Answer Guide, so I am prepared to start at any point in the book, and guide your learner the rest of the way! Just bring your copy of the book, pencil, and paper to class! 


EXPERIENCE. 
I have taught maths for over a decade, and am a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. I also have two decades of experience in the homeschool / home educated community. 


SAXON MATHS 7/6.
This course is appropriate for most sixth graders and those seventh graders who lag slightly behind grade level. Math 7/6 is especially good at providing cumulative review and expansion upon topics covered in earlier grades. Among topics covered at this level are fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, percents, rounding, estimating, exponents, working with signed numbers, square roots, beginning algebraic expressions, volume, angles, circles, prime factorization, ratios, proportions, statistics, and probability. Especially notable are word problems that cause children to think of math concepts in a number of different ways to ensure understanding. These features make this a great choice for many students at this level.
