In this class we will be receiving real life baby chicks! While observing the chicks and watching them grow we will also be discussing how to choose what chick is right for you, where you can buy chicks, what kind of housing they require as they grow, feed and nutrition, time commitment, health and wellness of your chicks as well as biosecurity and proper hygiene around the chicks.

When raising livestock and poultry some loss can be expected. Only live and healthy chicks will be shown to students. But students may notice if there is a chick missing due to expected loss from natural causes.
