PowerPoint slides with colorful pictures will be used to review eight parts of speech and to introduce a unit of PSAT/SAT vocabulary words. Examples of sentences that utilize those words will be provided by the teacher. Students will then be invited to recall the previously learned words and to use them in sentences. Students will be encouraged to engage in calculated risk-taking with their approach to encountering new vocabulary words. The teacher will strive to create a "safe" environment where making mistakes is a valued and understandable part of the learning process.

Students will learn a variety of new vocabulary words in preparation for the PSAT or SAT Testing Experience.

During the last seven academic years, I have worked as an English teacher and as a faculty member of a learning center.
