Each meeting will begin with the learner briefly sharing any art they've completed on their own over the past week, that could be traditional or digital art [they are not required to do so, but many learners enjoy the opportunity to share their art!]. The learner will then be asked whether there are any specific skills or areas they would like to work on.

We will then work on a project addressing that skill, learning a new skill, or refining / modifying a previous project (always by using safe editing techniques). I will Screen Share the project in process and share an overhead view of my iPad, so that the learner will be able to see exactly how I navigate throughout the application, and I will encourage chatting throughout the lesson.

* * Please Note: Traditional 2D Animation can be a slow process, so when animating traditionally on the tablet (drawing frame-by-frame) the project may take several lessons to complete. With other types of animation projects, for example digital "stop motion," it may only take one-two lessons to complete. * *

Skills include, but are never limited to:
- [Learning the basics and how to use the Procreate app (as needed)]
- Learning to use Animation Assist 
--> Onion Skins (Frames, Opacity), Frames Per Second, Loop / Ping-Pong / One Shot, Background Frame, Foreground Frame, etc.
- Possibly some character design and storytelling.

Animation Skills we may cover, depending on learner level and skill:
- Squash & Stretch
- Slow In, Slow Out
- Anticipation
- Exaggeration
- Staging
- Timing
- Walk Cycles

Learners do not need any prior experience with Procreate to take this class, though basic drawing skills and knowledge of the Procreate app will help them in their learning process. However, I am, of course, happy to help them create simple animations, start small and work their way up to more complex projects!

They will need an iPad, an Apple Pencil [preferred], and to have the Procreate application downloaded and installed [$12.99 from the App Store--check to make sure that your iPad is compatible]. At this time, Procreate is only supported on Apple products [compatible iPads].

**Teacher specializes in Animation Assist on the Procreate app. Android users are welcome to join, if they are proficient in their chosen Animation software and are interested in practicing traditional animation techniques in the digital format of their choice!**
