In this fun creative writing class, students will meet two times in one week to learn about story structure and the elements of a story. They will listen to a fantasy story, identify the story elements, and brainstorm ideas for their own stories. We will talk about characters, setting, plot, conflict, and solution. Everyone will be able to create their own characters and come up with a problem and solution for their story. In between meetings, each student will be able to write their stories...
Students will: 1. Learn about story structure 2. Learn about story elements (characters, plot, setting, conflict/problem, solution) 3. Listen to a story and identify the story elements 4. Create their own characters 5. Plan their stories in class 6. Write their stories between meetings 7. Share their stories in the second meeting with the teacher and other students

Please bring any art supplies or craft materials you would like so that you can begin to work on your story book project. We will be doing a lot of brainstorming activities on Day 1. Students will get to write and illustrate their stories between classes. On Day 2, students will bring their finished stories to class to read and present.
