During my early literacy training at the public library, I learned an incredible fact:
If a grownup reads to a child every day for just 20 minutes — basically one book a day — the child will hear 1.8 million words in one year. 

Therefore, Ms. Christina wants each learner to read together with a grown-up every day, a book of their choice in any language — it can even be the same book every day! Then read that book to a pet or stuffed animal so the child can practice without pressure, and even pretend to be the teacher. How fun!

Not only will this daily reading habit expose the learner to an incredible number of words, it will instill in them a lifelong love of reading. With reading being the cornerstone of all subsequent learning, the daily reading habit is the simplest, least expensive way to set your child up for a lifetime of success and joy.
