We read to gain meaning and knowledge. The PQ3R reading study method is a proven technique to help students more efficiently study reading material in less time. This technique transfers across many assignments and reading for personal interests. Students will practice how to preview, question, read, recite, and review reading material. Students will use the PQ3R reading study method during class while reading a current event article. This method transfers to different types of reading. The knowledge of PQ3R is a tool students can use on the go for school assignments, personal interest, and informational resources.
I have had students in the public and private school setting K-12 for over 25 years. I was an elementary public school teacher for 1st and 3rd grades for several years. I then taught 4th and 5th grades in private school for over a decade. I homeschooled my own children for several years through a local hybrid school. Currently, I teach 7-12 mathematics in a private school setting. I hold a current Master of Arts in Education degree from a large university in the state of Missouri.
