課堂經歷
This is a two week class. I will asses the learner's level and individualize the lessons for them. I welcome learners of all indentities and backgrounds into my classes. Depending on the student's level and musical interests, I will teach material that they will enjoy. For beginners - I will familiarize the student with the keyboard, notes and hand position. We will learn some simple songs at the first class, to get them playing right away. I use my own materials, that are adaptable...
Students will learn where the notes are on the keyboard and the be able to find their way around the piano keyboard. Students will learn a couple of basic scales. The student will learn to play some basic chords with both the left and right hands. We will do some basic improvising on a scale with the right hand , along with some chords in the left hand. The student will learn some basic warm - up exercises for each hand. They will be able to play with confidence and feel comfortable with the keyboard. My teaching style is creative and adaptable , based on the individual learner. The student will be able to learn and enjoy piano in an encouraging environment.
I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher. I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. I was head of the music department at a private high school in Maryland. I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio.
