Piano basics:  I make sure you have the fundamentals of piano, proper posture, how to use your hands properly, etc.   

Then: as you progress, we will add to your knowledge in every area of piano and keyboard. 

Books and ear training:  Whether you are a beginner or you have taken lessons before, I will assess which books I think will work for you.  I also teach chords and playing by ear.  

Music styles: You will learn songs and piano pieces that are enjoyable and age/level-appropriate and from many music genres. I cover classical, rock, jazz, and whatever interests you!

Overall piano work:  We cover pedaling, touch, dynamics, technique, theory and composition, and improvising, among other things.  

 Generally, this is your basic 30-minute piano lesson in which I try to cover as much as I can.  However, for a more complete piano course, I teach Private Lesson plus a Specialty Lesson in a different section.   If you have a child aged 5-7 years old, I recommend my Meet the Pianimals, also a different section,.
