英語程度 - 未知
美國 1 - 4 年級
In this 4 week flexible schedule class we will learn about 4 different artists (Kandinsky, Van Gogh, Monet, and Munch ) and create art pieces that are inspired by their work. We will talk about their genre of art, create pieces to be proud of, and learn about the artists through interactive games trivia, fun facts, and scavenger hunts. Learners will post pictures and/or video of their work (and their works in progress) on the classroom page so that fellow learners and the teacher can give feedback and encouragement on their pieces. It will be uplifting and helpful to the students and peer feedback will be fun! Students will also engage with each other in art scavenger hunts, fun trivia and games about the artists we will be talking about each week! Here are the highlights for each week! Week 1 - Wassily Kandinsky - We will discuss his life and his unique gifts. We will talk about his colorful winter piece, and then students will create their own winter masterpiece using crayon and watercolor. We will talk about color, composition, creativity, and also the proper use of materials and clean up. The students will be able to create their piece based on one of his ballerina pieces, but in their own style and with their own personality and creativity. They will post pictures of their work on the classroom page so that we can give feedback and encouragement to each learner. Week 2 - Vincent Van Gogh - We will discuss his various works and his life as painter who never knew the value of his own work. We will talk about his work and life (age appropriate of course). The students will create a winter Van Gogh painting based his piece called Landscape with Snow (1888). Students will also have a chance to do some fun extra games with each other that involve his work. Week 3 - Claude Monet - We will have fun exploring the artist Claude Monet. We will have fun looking at his Impressionist style that started the Impressionist movement . We will re-create one of his beautiful winter landscapes using crayon and watercolor and students will have fun adding their own creativity to their piece. We will play a few interactive games that are Impressionist themed as well as interaction with their art pieces with each other and the teacher. Week 4 - During this week we will look at the Scandinavian artist Edvard Munch. We will look at his interesting life (age appropriate of course) and how he created his post-impressionism and expressionism pieces. We will discuss these eras of art and our opinions on this genre of art. We will re-create his winter inspired piece using watercolor and crayon. We will do a some fun activities related to the artist during the week. The classes will be step by step allowing time for each learner to create their piece and be proud of what they create. The videos will be clear and provide at least 2 angles. No experience is needed, but some parental help could be needed with the painting parts if the student is younger. Please look at the supplies list for everything needed for these lessons!

I am excited to join Outschool as an art teacher! I LOVE art!
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art from the University of Central Florida with a concentration in painting. I have been teaching private art lessons for 25 years and have been teaching in the classroom for 19 years. I have taught pre school age through High School AP Drawing and AP 2D Design and everything in between.
I have 3 kids (ages 24, 22 and 13) and live in Orlando, Florida where I enjoy photography and streetpainting (chalk art) in my down time. I am a member of the Central Florida Chalk Artists Association and enjoy doing chalk art for events and non-profits. My daughter and I were actually featured on our local TV station back in April which was a lot of fun!
I love teaching students the art skills to be successful! I love to see students who think they can’t draw or paint find success and love what they created and be proud of it!
I like to engage students at their level and help them feel comfortable being creative, have a great time, learn about art even if they don’t realize they are learning along the way. I love to see the AHA moments they have when they create something they thought might be unachievable.
I think that students thrive when they start where they are and have lots of encouragement along the way! I am excited to be able to bring this to students around the country and the world!
