In this 4 week flexible schedule class we will learn about 4 different Pop artists (Roy Litchenstein, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Wayne Thiebaud) and create art pieces that are inspired by their work. We will talk about their genre of art, create pieces to be proud of, and learn about the artists through interactive games and trivia. Week 1Lesson 1Roy LitchensteinUnleash your inner Pop Artist! This session dives into the bold colors, dynamic compositions, and playful interpretations of Roy Lichtenstein. We'll explore how he used everyday imagery to create iconic works, then put those ideas into action with your own Pop Art masterpiece.Week 2Lesson 2Keith HaringThis week, we'll explore the life and art of this iconic artist. We'll start by learning about his inspirations and how he used the streets and subways as his canvas. Get ready to be amazed by his bold lines and see how his work reflects themes of love, friendship, and social issues.Week 3Lesson 3Andy WarholThis week, we're diving into the world of the coolest artist around – Andy Warhol! We'll explore his work, bursting with bright colors and everyday objects. Get ready to unleash your inner artist! We'll recreate one of Warhol's iconic pieces using crayons and watercolors. But that's not all – you'll get to add your own creative twist, making your artwork truly unique.Week 4Lesson 4Wayne ThiebaudThis week, we're going on an art adventure with Wayne Thiebaud, an artist who loved painting delicious treats like cakes, pies, and ice cream cones! Imagine paintings so good they almost make your mouth water! Did you know he used to be an art teacher... for soldiers?! Pretty cool, right? Then, we'll find out how his amazing paintings ended up hanging in fancy museums. Feeling inspired? We'll grab our watercolors and crayons and become mini-Thiebauds ourselves!
Each learner will need: - A watercolor set - A brush (any size will do) - A cup with water to clean the brush - Set of crayons (or oil pastels) - Black permanent marker (Sharpie or similar) - Heavy white paper (watercolor paper is preferred but not completely necessary) - Table protection (newspaper, butcher paper etc). - Smock or old t-shirt to keep the paints off of your child's clothing

Parents are encouraged to be close by during the classes to help their learner with the painting process to minimize spills (especially with electronics close by!) and to make sure their paints and markers stay on the paper.
We will be using youtube videos from GoodBye Art Academy , Artrageous with Nate, The Magnificant Paintbrush, and State of the Arts.
